Depression, mental and physical
feeling cranium heavy, body weak
beyond bleak spirit weak
need a light streak
to lift my knees and feet
cross the street, around this curbing
the outdoors hotter than coffee
and in need of sauntering
my slow gait for movement’s sake
to maybe feel awake.
